Duplex Steel S32205 Flanges are manufactured from a duplex stainless steel alloy comprising around 22% chromium, 5–6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and nitrogen, providing a balanced ferrite-austenite structure. This alloy offers superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. Mechanical properties are high with tensile strength of up to 620 MPa and yield strength almost twice that of conventional austenitic stainless steels. The fatigue strength is high, weldability is good, and thermal conductivity is high, which makes the flanges appropriate for applications demanding strength as well as corrosion protection.
