Duplex Steel RTJ Flanges are generally made of grades like UNS S31803 (2205) and UNS S32205, which combine the strength of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. The flanges have high tensile strength (620–800 MPa), yield strength (≥450 MPa), and excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion. RTJ flanges have a precision-machined groove into which a metal ring gasket is seated to provide a leak-free seal and are thus suitable for applications where leakage is out of the question. The duplex steel microstructure is balanced, making strength and corrosion resistance improve, particularly in hostile service conditions.
