Monel Lap Joint Flanges are generally made of Monel 400, a nickel-copper alloy consisting of around 63% nickel and 28–34% copper. These flanges are highly resistant to corrosion, particularly in marine and chemical process environments. Monel has a high tensile strength (550–620 MPa), excellent weldability, and wide-temperature toughness. The lap joint design permits the flange to rotate in relation to the stub end, making bolt alignment easy and minimizing stress on the piping system.
