F5 Alloy Steel Flanges are manufactured using ASTM A182 Grade F5 material, which is a chromium-molybdenum alloy with nearly 5% chromium and 0.5% molybdenum. This allows for a higher resistance to scaling at high temperatures, oxidation, and thermal fatigue. Typical mechanical properties are tensile strength of 485–655 MPa and yield strength of nearly 275 MPa. These flanges possess excellent heat resistance, creep strength, and weldability. They come in different configurations such as weld neck, socket weld, blind, slip on, and threaded to suit pressure and temperature-sensitive applications.
