Hastelloy C276 Flanges are constructed from a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with iron and tungsten added, giving an excellent resistance to a broad spectrum of severe chemicals. The alloy is highly resistant to strong oxidizers, reducing agents, wet chlorine, and other acids (such as hydrochloric, sulfuric, and nitric acids). It has a tensile strength of about 760 MPa and retains good mechanical properties in oxidizing and reducing conditions. It possesses remarkable resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, and hence it is suitable for the most demanding service conditions.
