Stainless Steel 202 flanges consist of about 17–19% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7.5–10% manganese. The lower nickel content and higher manganese content make it an economical substitute for 304 but with good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance in mildly aggressive conditions. These flanges have a tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 275 MPa. While not ideal for extremely corrosive or marine applications, 202 flanges possess adequate ductility, formability, and toughness for indoor or lightly outdoor industrial applications.
