Stainless Steel 347H flanges contain 17–20% chromium and 9–13% nickel and are stabilized with columbium (niobium) and higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) compared to typical 347. Higher carbon increases creep resistance, and niobium inhibits carbide precipitation when welding, thus avoiding intergranular corrosion. The flanges have a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa. They retain structural integrity and oxidation resistance up to 870°C (1600°F) temperature, with high weldability, ductility, and thermal stress resistance long term.
